Earth Interstellar: Proxy War is an interstellar war novel with a ensemble cast.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Living in liquid filled, EGG habitats to withstand the massive pressures from acceleration required for space travel, Commander Kree and the crew of the XSS Cousteau are forced work in a virtual environment for months at a time as they explore the galaxy.
When the Cousteau makes humanity's first contact with Rheas, it creates an opportunity for the United Earth Government to gain back some of industries dedicated paying tribute to their Vrene "protectors."
Only the Chzek, the Vrene's long time enemy, has other plans for the newly discovered race.
Humanity has no choice but to become the proxy of the Vrene and fight an interstellar war of survival and conquest.
Questions arise as Commander Kree and others realize the Vrene were preparing Earth to fight their war with the Chek for hundreds of years. Did they set them up for annihilation from the beginning? Or, did the Vrene do them a favor by preparing them for a war they were already destined to fight?

UPDATES
June 13, 2019: Look for Earth Interstellar to come out on audio book late 2019!
March 16, 2018: As a thank you to our friends across the pond, Earth Interstellar will be on sale starting March 18, 2018 for Kindle at 0.99 on Amazon.uk. The link to the right will take you to the Amazon.uk sale page for EI.
March 2, 2018: EI is having a good start and my first reviews are in on Amazon.com (note: I do NOT pay for reviews). I am especially appreciative of a review from Steven L. Fritz. In it he says, "This book got off to a good start with the Prologue, not always a good approach but it works well here. The stakes of the story are laid out here, not fully understandable until the end. The author has used his Cost (sic) Guard experience to create a very believable world of interstellar ship combat. Few writers bring the verisimilitude he brings to shipboard life, but it always serves the story.
Humanity is a minor civilization in an interstellar war. Their value to the overall galactic civilization is minimal except as proxy warriors. The weaponry described is innovative and believable and the battles between humans and another proxy species are well described. The characters are an ensemble but a few main characters come to life in interesting ways. Overall, a fascinating read."
That's a great review as he has hit the nail on the head of what I was trying to accomplish in Earth Interstellar. Thank you Steven!

January 25, 2018: Earth Interstellar is now available for Pre-Order. The publication date is set for February 23, 2018. Be the first to get my new book!
December 31, 2017: Just finished edits on Earth Interstellar: Proxy War and have sent off pdf copies to my beta readers. Can't be happier to start 2018 off strong!
December 8, 2017: Yesterday I finalized the cover for Earth Interstellar with CoverMint Design. I worked with Dan Van Oss on creating the cover and I could not be happier with the work he has done and how easy he was to work with. You can find him at https://www.covermint.design/
November 24, 2017: I have added the prologue and first full chapter of Earth Interstellar below. The excerpt it replaces was an earlier version and only part of the chapter. The chapter has gone through several edits and is near the final version that will be published.
November 3, 2017: I have completed the third rewrite of Earth Interstellar: Proxy War and turned it over to my editors. Right now I am in the process of hiring an artist to do the book cover. I believe I have found someone that can do an awesome job at a reasonable price. Expect publication before the end of the year (crossing my fingers).
September 15, 2017: The first rewrite is going well and things are moving forward for the publication of Earth Interstellar by the end of the year. My next challenge as I continue with preparing the manuscript will be having cover art done, which is going to be interesting since I have no idea who I want to use for it right now.
August 6, 2017: Changed the name of 7th Consortium to Earth Interstellar: Proxy War. Have not been happy with the title for some time and only now settled (mostly) on a new name. Writing in coming along. Had some hold up as I worked out the build up to the finish, but I think I've got it worked out now. This is one of the two books I did not outline in advance and it can be problematic at times as you have to figure out where you're going on the fly. (Nova Academy was the other while Galaxy.Net has an extensive outline.)
July 26, 2017: Things are moving along nicely. You can expect a renaming of the book to happen. Just not happy with 7th Consortium and I have a half dozen other names I like. Once I get some feedback from family and friends on the new name I will update it here. I'm still on schedule to complete the book by the end of the year, so stand by.
June 24, 2017: Back again. I am at 63,000 words and can see the end in sight (at least in that I have a firm idea of the remaining events for the very first time). Today the Black Rock Three Base had a very busy day and tomorrow I expect to complete what has happened there and move onto some more time spent with now Captain Mary Kree. At my current pace I should have the first draft done within the next thirty days and will immediately start in doing edit readings for revisions and filling any gaps I find before going on to fix all my comma errors and get the book in good enough order to not be embarrassed to give it over to my wonderful editor.
May 19, 2017: Hi all. I am just over 42,000 words into my first draft of Seventh Consortium (title subject to change) and am excited to keep churning out pages. The story is going well so far. Commander Mary Kree and Admiral Nelson are just about to go into a hearing of the Seventh Consortium for a complaint lodged by the Chzek for the Humans' unpardonable attack on a Chzek-kin fleet in the Rheas System.
